Over 2000 students, graduates, serving corps members and professionals in different fields, from Nigeria and the Republic of Benin, attended the recently concluded annual Academic Stars’ Summit 2025 organised by the Christ Apostolic Church Youth Fellowship.
The Summit which held from Wednesday, July 9 to Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the prestigious Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State, attracted students from over 60 campuses who experienced different impactful sessions.
Themed “Royal Priesthood”, curled from 1 Peter 2:9, it is notable that this year’s event is the first Academic Stars’ Summit organised under the leadership of the new Director of Youth Affairs, CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Peter Olanrewaju, PhD, who resumed office in January. Recall that the Director was, as last year, the Secretary of the Planning Committee of the event.
Remarkably, this year’s Summit wore a new look with greater measures of encounters, and physical manifestations of the power of God through a series of healings, deliverances and testimonies of the experience of the supernatural.
The aftermath of the 2025 Summit was true to the Welcome Address of the Director, who told the participants that the event was not a mere event but “a divine convocation of destiny-shapers, a prophet gathering of students who carry within them seeds of nations, voices of truths, and solutions for their generation.”
Explaining the theme of the summit, he said, “this year’s theme is more than a theme; it is a divine identity that many have yet to fully understand, much less walk in. The word of God does not flatter us; it defines us. It tells us who we truly are in Christ, not as the world sees us, but as heaven has ordained. You are a chosen generation. You are God’s own possession. You are a royal priesthood. That is, you are called to reign and to intercede. To take authority in the seen and the unseen.”
“You are here to be shaped by truth. You are here to encounter divine patterns. You are here to receive the blueprint for your life and destiny. Let this summit provoke something eternal in you. Let it ignite fire that no academic pressure or societal confusion can quench,” the Director told the students.
The Summit hosted significant personalities in the ministry and academia deliver life-transforming lectures, colloquium, marriage seminar, panel and prayers sessions; such as, the Founder of Men of Issachar Vision (MIV) International, Rev. Samson Ajetomobi; the Director of Youth, Pastor Peter Olanrewaju, PhD; a Professor of Economics at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Pastor Prof. Abayomi Adebayo; Special Assistant to the President of CAC, Pastor T. D. Asokeji; former Commissioner in Ondo State, Hon. Mrs. Omolola Fagbemi; Registrar of University of Ibadan, Pastor Ganiyu O. Saliu; Chaplain of JABU, Pastor Olusola Oluwasanmi; Group CEO, United Capital Plc, Pastor Peter Ashade; Founder and President of Mission Enablers Int’l, Pastor Niyi Osomo; Pastor Remi and Mrs Olufunmilayo Adeyemi; and the President of CACYOF University of Abuja, Bro. Tsado Enoch Babanya.
Significantly, the overall best graduating student of the Federal University of Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) 2023/2024 session, who was the immediate past president of CACYOF FUOYE, David Adepoju; and the Best Graduating student of Edo State Polytechnic, 2023/2024 session, who was also the President of CACYOF Edo Poly, Temitope Samuel Arowolo, received cash donations at the summit. Similarly, about twenty first-class undergraduates were flaunted, celebrated and prayed for at the summit.
Part of the social activities of the event was Director’s courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of JABU, the friendly football match held between regions of the Church; and a talent hunt of varied performances.
