The Prophetic ministry is often associated with the supernatural ability to know past, present and future events. True to several evidences and instances in scriptures, the prophetic covers a stronger activity, or better put, ministry, beyond what many suggest it stands for.
Back to the scriptures, the etymology of the word in the Hebrew and Greek where it biblically emanates, imply speaking not only future events, but speaking from the divine, to people, as a divine spokesperson. Simply put, a prophet is one who delivers, proclaims, announces the word of God to people. He speaks the mind of God to people. This is not far from the reality of the ministry of Prophets in scriptures.
Pointedly, prophets in the Bible were teachers. Mention Prophets Isaiah, Ezekiel, Obadiah, Amos, Haggai, Samuel and the hosts of prophetic figures in scriptures, you can’t but think of the wealth of words, declarations and proclamations from God through them to His people.
The dedication of Prophet Samuel to the house of God by his mother becomes a contemporarily relatable event with the story of the President of Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele, whose parents were not only God’s vessels for his becoming, but proclaimed the will of God to his reality.
Today, impacting nations, with simple and apt delivery of the Word of God, Pastor Oladele is one of the world’s contemporary Prophet Samuel anointed to proclaim God’s word to religious and political leaders, and the entire gospel believing and unbelieving populace.
His sermons are not bombastic sophisticated motivational rhymes put together to impress; rather, intelligent interpretation and contextual application of the Word of God. Without bias, particularly with a ministerial service without siren, Pastor Oladele is God’s man sent to restore order to today’s house of Israel, premised from the Christ Apostolic Church, to the reach of the world.
At Jacob’s Well in the gospel according to John chapter four, our Lord Jesus was not only being a prophet by the revelation of who the Samaritan woman was, but also by clearly pointing the Living Water to her, taking her back to Genesis through arguably, a short teaching. This well of Jacob, Pastor Oladele preaches, stands as a symbol of the labours of our forebearers that has become fruits of harvest for us today.
By the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Oladele’s contextual and consistent teachings place him in the Prophetic ministry, primarily marked by declarations, admonitions, and proclamations of the Word of God. Like the ministry of most biblical Prophets and our Lord Jesus Christ, Pastor Oladele’s teachings are solid on pulling down the strongholds of sentiments, tribalism, and uncouth attitudes in the local church. He stands for proper application of the word of God in ministerial conducts, and handling spiritual matters.
His 70 years of living, with more decades to follow, despite being charasterised by different stages of troubles and challenges, the fondly called “Alagbagba boy” stands as a testimony of God’s faithfulness, encouragement for ministers of the gospel to stay true to their ministries, and a motivation for young ministers to obey God and start now.
