It was an historic moment on Thursday, August 7, 2025 as Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Praise Chapel, newly located at No 70 Ojaja layout, Moore Quarters, Ile-Ife, Osun State celebrated a landmark moment in her history with the laying of the foundation stone for its long-anticipated cathedral โ comprising Youth Auditorium, Teenagers Assembly and Children Hall.
The momentous ceremony was conducted under the leadership of the Orogun Regional Superintendent, Pastor E. S. Famuyide, represented by Ile-Ife Axis leader and Ife DCC Superintendent, Pastor John Igbokwe.
Besides Pastor Igbokwe, the auspicious event brought together a diverse array of church leaders and ministers, including Fajuyi Zonal Superintendent, Pastor E. A Adedigba; Ogooluwatobi District Superintendent, Pastor Oluwafemi Segun John; Pastor Olabode, former General Overseer of Christ Way Ministry; Pastor & Mrs Odun Orioke; and other distinguished ministers, elders, deacons & deaconesses, partners, and members from within and outside Ile-Ife.
The atmosphere brimmed with joyful worship, vibrant praise, and a spirit of thanksgiving as the congregation marked this historic step forward.
Delivering the dayโs charge from Psalm 127, Pastor Igbokwe declared, โExcept the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain,โ explaining that the cathedral project is not only about erecting a physical structure but also about preparing for the eternal home that awaits believers in Christ.
โIt is one thing to lay bricks for a building, but the greatest and most lasting work is to lay Christ as the foundation of your life. Only then can we be assured of a home in heaven,โ he said.
In his remarks, the Pastor-in-charge, Pastor Olufemi Unction Timothy, offered heartfelt appreciation to the ministers present, all and sundry, expressing that โthis foundation is more than stones and cement. It is a prophetic declaration of Godโs faithfulness and a stepping stone to the greater glory ahead. I thank everyone who has given, prayed, and laboured for this day. May the Lord bring this work to full completion.โ
The service was rich in moments of dedication and praise, including powerful praise led by the church choir, prayers, the symbolic laying of the foundation, and a prophetic release on the ground to consecrate it for Godโs work.
After 12 years of effective discipleship under a tent on a borrowed land, CAC Chapel of Praise miraculously got her land at the centre of the town, and the planned cathedral will serve not just as a place of worship, but also as a centre for evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, and community outreach. It is envisioned as a beacon of light for Ile-Ife and beyond, offering both spiritual guidance and a place of refuge. This foundation-laying marks a significant milestone, made possible by the prayers, unity, and sacrificial giving of the church family and partners.
