𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑 𝐆𝐀𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐋 𝐎𝐊𝐀𝐅𝐎𝐑: 𝐂𝐀𝐂 𝟏𝐒𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐄𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐘 𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐎 𝐆𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐘

Pastor Gabriel Ebonem Obiekezie Okafor, born on October 1, 1936, hails from Anambra, Nigeria.

He was the first Choir Master at CAC Olugbode, Odo Ona, Ibadan; and Secretary of the defunct CAC United Choir Association.

He was also a former Principal Secretary to the Minister of Defence & Chief of General Staff in the Ministry of Defence from 1980 to 1993.

He served as the 1st Youth Officer Church (now Director of Youth Affairs) from 1993 to 1994.

From being the Youth Officer, he became the 5th General Secretary of the Church, where he served from 1995 to 1998.

Pastor Okafor transited to glory on December 22, 2023.

At the outing and thanksgiving service held for the deceased, the Regional Superintendent of Babalola Region, Pastor Gabriel S. Dada, who preached on the topic: “Travelling by whirlwind to heaven” said “Elijah, just like Pastor Okafor, did not lose his contact with the altar, which Bethel represented. He did fight a good fight, and he was victorious. Alluding to Jericho as a place of victory.”

He added that Pastor Okafor had his own battles in life and was victorious.
